Investment Team
mATTHEW GREENBERG
Matthew is a founder and Co-Chief Investment Officer of East Hill Capital.
Matthew began his investing career at age 13, when he read The Intelligent Investor for the first time; he has been a value-investor ever since. Matthew has held positions as a healthcare analyst and portfolio manager at Apex Capital Holdings and as a cannabis analyst at Navy Capital.
Matthew has passed all three levels of the CFA exam and holds a BA in economics from Carnegie Mellon University.
eTHAN mCgOWAN
Ethan is a founder and Co-Chief Investment Officer of East Hill Capital.
Prior to co-founding East Hill Capital, Ethan was an analyst at multiple private equity firms, helping to acquire nearly $200MM in assets. Most recently Ethan worked at AION Partners, where he was responsible for sourcing and analyzing potential investment opportunities.
Ethan, also a four-year varsity baseball player, graduated with honors from the University of Rochester with a BA in Economics & Statistics.
Advisory Board
Richard greenberg, cfa
Richard Greenberg joined the advisory board of East Hill Capital at the fund’s inception in July of 2018. As an advisory board member, Richard advises on strategic issues.
Richard has over 37 years of investment management experience. He currently serves as the Senior Portfolio Manager and Director of Research at Donald Smith & Co., a $4 billion asset manager based out of New York.
Richard graduated Phi Betta Kappa from SUNY Binghamton with a BA in Psychology, and received an MBA from Wharton Business School.
Seth Mcgowan, md
Seth McGowan joined the advisory board of East Hill Capital at the fund’s inception in July of 2018. As an advisory board member, Seth actively assists the team with scientific analysis of potential cannabis-related biotech and pharmaceutical investment opportunities. He also aids in the evaluation of potential derivatives strategies.
Seth spent five years as a successful derivatives and commodities trader before attending medical school at the University of Rochester, where he was the valedictorian and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society. Seth completed his residency in child and adolescent psychiatry at Columbia University, where he was the chief-resident and the recipient of the Edward J. Sackler award for clinical excellence. Seth has 20 years of private practice experience and for the past 16 years has served on the faculty of Columbia University.
Seth graduated Cum Laude from New York University with a BS in Computer Science and Mathematics.
